A light copyedit is the final stage of editing before sending a manuscript for review or publication and is less thorough than a regular copyedit.
A light copyedit addresses the following:
- Grammar
- Punctuation
- Spelling
- Egregious errors and typos

- Formatting for a dissertation/thesis according to graduate school guidelines
- Formatting a journal article for submission to a specific journal
- Ensuring citations adhere to a style guide (CMOS, MLA, or APA)
The edited manuscript will be returned with editing suggestions and comments visible via Track Changes in MS Word or Google Docs.
