My goals as an editor are 1) to help you learn the skills to become a better writer and 2) to help you find and maintain your voice as a writer.

I predominantly edit non-fiction and academic manuscripts in the humanities; however, I provide writing coaching for all types of projects. If you don’t see what you’re looking for here, please contact me.

I have extensive experience working with international and multilingual authors, including authors from Nigeria, Turkey, South Korea, and Brazil.

I am highly proficient in the Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS) and can also work with MLA and APA.

To prepare a manuscript for publication, the steps of editing are roughly:

  1. Writing Coaching
  2. Developmental Editing
  3. Line/Substantive Editing
  4. Copyediting
  5. Light Copyediting

Many projects do not fall neatly into one of these categories, however. I will work with you to find a form of editing that best meets your needs.

Projects I have worked on:

Academic:

  • Book
  • Book Chapter
  • Journal Article
  • Thesis/Dissertation
