
A light copyedit is the final stage of editing before sending a manuscript for review or publication and is less thorough than a copyedit.
It looks for typos, spelling errors, egregious grammatical errors, and any glaring omissions (such as a missing caption or a footnote or endnote without content). It will not check for adherence to a style manual.
This will include a transmittal letter describing the main edits and corrections I’ve done. This is the fastest and least expensive type of copyediting.
