Ready to start writing? Feeling less than motivated or confused about where to start? Writing groups can be a great resource to help motivate you to write and to practice setting writing habits. Finding a writing group, however, can be a challenge. Grad students are busy and if you form a group with your friends, you may end up socializing more than writing. (Not that there is anything wrong with socializing—writing is lonely!)

In response to this, I offer a free online writing group once a week. Writing group sessions last 1.5 hours over Zoom. During the first 15 minutes, everyone checks in and sets their writing goals. Then we write for 60 minutes and finally, we spend the last 15 minutes evaluating everyone’s writing goals.
